For today’s prompt, write a poem for and/or about something that cannot be seen. I mentioned cold, but there are so many more possibilities, including love, gravity, the future, thoughts, and sound waves. Our lives are filled with things we know exist but which we can’t see.
THE UNSEEN ENEMY
By John Yeo
Our neighbour was taken to hospital
An ambulance arrived today.
The doctors were wearing spacesuits,
To keep an infection away.
Ababou was sick with red eyes
Coughing with pains in his tummy
The doctors were worried about him
So they came to take him away.
The doctors were dressed to be safe
To keep an unseen virus away
There is no protection from ebola
Except clothing to keep the virus at bay.
One day soon a cure will arrive,
A vaccine or an elixer
Then the magic will keep everyone alive
And keep the unseen virus away.
